LOUISVILLE, KY, February 19, 2013 – West IP Communications, a subsidiary of West Corporation and a leading provider of cloud-based communication applications and services, today announced a dedicated, hosted solution for Microsoft Lync 2013® that adds call control and other VOIP (Voice over IP) capabilities to Microsoft’s software-enabled Unified Communications (UC) platform and expedites Lync deployments across the enterprise.
Built on West’s expertise in data, voice and video networking and high-quality, end-to-end VOIP services, West Hosted Microsoft Lync is a suite of on-demand services, including full enterprise voice, conferencing, desktop sharing and other call management tools. It is hosted in customer-dedicated, single-tenant environments in West global data centers.
West Hosted Microsoft Lync builds upon Lync 2013’s presence, IM (instant messaging), voice, ad-hoc and online meeting capabilities, and helps enterprises maximize their Lync investments, eliminate interoperability issues, and improve the ways people collaborate.
“We not only offer the voice and Microsoft Lync expertise to meet enterprise voice requirements but also provide a complete solution,” said Bob Wise, Executive Vice President of West IP Communications. “There are other providers in the marketplace that have an expertise around just hosting data. But voice telephony, which is regulated by the government, requires deep technical skills. West IP Communications has spent the last 12 years refining its converged voice offerings – VOIP, PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) and UC – and we’re bringing that experience to West Hosted Microsoft Lync.”
West now offers enterprises a full set of Lync options depending on their UC strategies. Besides West Hosted Microsoft Lync, West IP Communications offers enterprises a hybrid solution in MediaCloud®. West subsidiary InterCall offers an on-premises solution in InterCall ECC (Enterprise Conferencing Connectivity): Lync Edition.
West IP Communications also announced today that its MaxxConnect SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) trunking services are now compatible with Lync 2013.
West IP Communications has designed its services from the ground up to work with complex networking technologies. Its strategy is founded on applying best-in-breed technologies for its clients, offering operations and service excellence, and delivering world-class client support around the globe.
As a Microsoft Gold Partner for Unified Communications, West IP Communications is among only one percent of Microsoft partners worldwide that have attained this distinction. West IP Communications is a sponsor of the Microsoft Lync 2013 Conference today through February 21 in San Diego.
